Who's being done for racism, Man City or Moscow? Our fans shouldn't be punished. Uefa said it was waiting for the report from the match officials before making any comment.
The fans inside the stadium made their presence felt, chanting throughout, and City manager Manuel Pellegrini did not disagree with suggestions this could have influenced a late penalty decision for the home side. I don't want to talk about the referee or other things. I don't want to be punished again," he said.
City are understood to have brought the issue about supporters to the attention of Uefa. Pellegrini, who was handed a two-match touchline ban for criticising a referee last season, said his team were not helped by the icy weather. I do hope Ajax would say no to them, infact I hope Jan does as well.. By ElCarpet on But this could not be more perfect. Beating a City side without Kompany, either Toure and Silva should actually be achievable without Ade.
However we may have more missing pieces by the time we go with injury.. I am not loooking forward to this match at all…. Berbatov is the new Beckenbauer By Ben Daniels on Unless we buy a striker by then They're just going to go buy vertonghen now, aren't they? Oh dear god, not Vertonghen By Aslan the Melon on For despite his comments at the end there about the team looking strong, City were desperate for their captain to return to the starting side as soon as possible. Not just in terms of his leadership skills and proven experience on the field, but in terms of their defense, where things were starting to look a little thin had Kompany been suspended for three games.
City are already without Kolo Toure and Micah Richards due to international duties and injury respectively, which would have left Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic as their only real options in central defense for the next few games. Fortunately, however, Kompany was not suspended and can take his spot at the back as per usual this weekend for the defending champions.
The correct decision was made by the FA to overrule the suspension and, thankfully for City, the red card didn't affect the final result at all. Kompany will resume for City this weekend when his side take on Fulham in the English Premier League.
